In 2026/2027 the scholarship form ran from 15 October 2025 to noon on 15 December 2025, and only students who applied for admission and paid the application fee between 1 October and 1 December 2025 were eligible.

What it covers
What the money buys, and who it is for.
Sixteen awards of €5,000 gross a year plus a full tuition fee waiver, for international students entering the first year of Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design or Energy Engineering (Renewables and Environmental Sustainability RES) taught in English at the Piacenza campus. It is tied to those two programmes only, and you have to have applied for admission inside the Early Bird window to be eligible at all.

What it does not cover
It does not cover the administrative fee of approximately €170, which recipients must pay to accept the award. No housing, meals, travel or insurance component. The amount is gross and is taxed as income equivalent to employment income.

Why
This one is not open to every English-taught master at Piacenza. The call limits it to Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design and to Energy Engineering (Renewables and Environmental Sustainability RES). Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics for Manufacturing) at the same campus sits under the Bronze Piacenza award instead, which is worth €2,500 and pays in a single instalment. Picking the wrong programme expecting the same money is the mistake to avoid.

The call states the Merit Gold Piacenza Campus Scholarship is funded by Piacenza Campus, and is disbursed in two instalments.
Can I keep it alongside another award?
No. The incompatibility clause covers every Merit Based International Scholarship: it is incompatible with other scholarships issued by Politecnico di Milano nor by any other public or private Entity, being it Italian or foreign, except those issued for participation in international mobility programmes.
How do I renew it for the second year?
The sum of your exam grades multiplied by their ECTS must be at least 700 points by 10 August 2027, and you must stay in the same Master programme. Extra ECTS, internships and credits from a separate academic career are excluded from that total.
