Politecnico di Milano does not price degrees individually. One all inclusive contribution covers any programme and is scaled by ISEE, the Italian measure of household income and assets, from 157.04 euro at the bottom of the scale to 3,943.04 euro at the top. The figure here is the top, because the university states that an international student in the reserved non EU category, admitted with a first level qualification obtained abroad and holding no scholarship, pays the maximum whatever ISEE says.

The engineering admission page states: "You can enter by taking the TOL, Test on Line (provided by Politecnico di Milano), test administred in Italian and/or one of the following alternative tests: TOLC-I, test administered in Italian; CEnT-S, test administered in English; SAT, test administered in English."”

The degree
About this degree.
A three year Laurea at the Milano Leonardo campus on the planning, design, construction, management and maintenance of structures and infrastructures, including bridges, tunnels, dams and transport systems. It suits a student who wants a grounding in structural mechanics, geotechnics, fluid mechanics and surveying before practising or moving on to a Laurea Magistrale.
The Politecnico di Milano states that Civil Engineering deals with the planning, design, construction, management and maintenance of structures and infrastuctures, among them bridges, tunnels, dams and transportation systems.
The university's full description
The education begins with mathematics, physics, chemistry and computer science, and applies them through structural mechanics, geotechnics, fluid mechanics and surveying.
Graduates are awarded the qualification of Dottore in Ingegneria Civile. They can operate as self-employed professionals, or as employees in public administration or private companies, working in civil, building and environmental engineering. Practising as a self-employed professional in Italy requires the state professional examination and registration.
The programme lasts three years at the Milano Leonardo campus and the course page lists the language of instruction as Italian or English. The available places list for 2026/2027 shows the two tracks separately, one Italian and one English.
