It is the smallest cash amount in the Merit call and it is tied to that single programme.

Sixteen awards of €5,000 gross a year plus a full tuition fee waiver, for international students entering the first year of Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design or Energy Engineering (Renewables and Environmental Sustainability RES) taught in English at the Piacenza campus. It is tied to those two programmes only, and you have to have applied for admission inside the Early Bird window to be eligible at all.

Politecnico di Milano waives the whole tuition fee and adds a gross cash allowance of €10,000 a year on 10 Platinum awards or €8,000 a year on 18 Gold awards, for international students entering the first year of a Master of Science taught in English at Milano Leonardo or Milano Bovisa. Only students who submitted their admission application and paid the application fee during the Early Bird window are eligible at all, which for 2026/2027 meant applying between 1 October and 1 December 2025.

The programme is alive, not discontinued: its 11th edition ran for 2026-2027 and pays 10,800 euros a year plus a waiver of enrolment fees and university contributions, for an English taught master's with a compulsory internship at an Italian company. Article 2 of the call reserves it to citizens of 23 named countries and Pakistan is not one of them.

Lombardy's DSU grant for 2026/2027 pays a student living away from home 5,028 to 7,419 euro in cash, adds a free meal a day and carries exemption from Politecnico tuition and contributions. You have to be under both ceilings, an ISEE of 26,887.93 euro and an ISPE of 58,452.06 euro, and the application goes to Politecnico di Milano rather than to the region, by 12:00 Italian time on 5 August 2026 for a first year student.

The two ceilings
Two numbers decide it. Neither is your marks.
DSU is decided by income and assets, not by results.
ISEE ceiling, 2025/26

ISEE is Italy's assessed indicator of household income and assets. Above this figure there is no DSU grant, whatever your marks are. It is not a salary and it does not convert usefully into rupees. It is a computed number with its own rules.
ISPE ceiling, 2025/26

ISPE is the assets half of the same assessment, property and savings rather than income. Both ceilings have to be met, and families miss this one because most coverage only mentions the first.
Both figures are from the 2025/26 calls. The first year is assessed on money alone; credit thresholds start from the second.

Family income cannot be compared with a DSU ceiling by itself. A CAF office uses income, assets and family composition to produce an ISEE Parificato and ISPE. Enter those official results here.

Before the call opens
Six documents, in this order.
A DSU application is a paperwork chain. Two links in it are produced in Italy, from documents legalised in Pakistan. The order decides whether the deadline is reachable.
Two routes you will see elsewhere, and where they really live.
Both are real. Neither is an Italian regional or state call, so neither is a record here. Each one says what we do about it.
University merit scholarships
There is no central register of merit awards at Italian universities. Coverage of them is abundant and carries no source. We opened the two institution pages where awards were published. Both turned out to be DSU calls, not separate merit schemes.
Each university's tasse e borse page has to be opened and read on its own. We are working through the ones our students ask about. When a page confirms an award, it appears here with the URL and the date we read it. Not before.
Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters
Real, well funded, and not an Italian scholarship. Erasmus Mundus is governed by European Commission rules, and applications go to the consortium running the programme. Italy hosts many of them and operates a portal for none.
We list it here so the boundary is clear. If a consortium programme is where you should be applying, that is a different application on a different calendar. Treating it as an Italy route will cost you the deadline.
The chain is assembled from the regional agencies’ own guidance and from what our advisors have had to produce; a region can still ask for one more thing, and the call is the document that decides. Every figure here was last reviewed on 4 September 2026, and a call that moves its dates moves them here the day we read the new one.

Short answers. Where we could not confirm something, the answer says so. An answer that states a figure carries the office it came from.
Does a scholarship cover the money the visa asks me to show?
The Italian study visa asks you to show €10,179.85 for the year. It can be held in your own account, or evidenced by a scholarship or a sponsor affidavit. So an awarded scholarship can carry that requirement. A scholarship you have applied for and not yet been granted cannot, and cash is refused outright.

Do I apply for funding before or after I get admission?
The calendars are separate and they do not wait for each other. Each regional right-to-study authority publishes its own call, procedure and deadline for the universities it serves. Invest Your Talent also needs two applications: admission at the university, and a separate one on its own platform.
Will UniConnect360 get me a scholarship?
No, and nobody can. What we do is check what you are eligible for against the published criteria, show you where those criteria are published, and put the date we read them next to the figure. Eligibility means you meet a stated rule. It does not mean you will be awarded anything.
