“The rule, verbatim: "All applicants need to provide a document attesting their English language knowledge." A medium of instruction letter replaces the test. The exemption clause, verbatim: "Students who can prove that English was the medium of instruction for their Bachelor's degree (for at least 3 years) are exempt from providing any English language certification. In this case, students must upload a document certified by their university confirming that at least 75% of the courses in their programme were taught in English." Italian is not needed to enter this programme. Politecnico asks for proof of Italian at enrolment only for programmes taught entirely in Italian, or in Italian and English. It is needed before you graduate. The university states that an Italian language proficiency test is mandatory for international students admitted to all English language Laurea Magistrale programmes, and that you must certify the language before sitting the graduation exam. A student admitted without it carries an Italian OFA, an additional learning obligation, and has to clear it before graduating.”

One all inclusive contribution covers any programme and is scaled by ISEE, the Italian measure of household income and assets, from 157.04 euro at the bottom of the scale to 3,943.04 euro at the top. The figure here is the top, because the university states that an international student in the reserved non EU category, admitted with a first level qualification obtained abroad and holding no scholarship, pays the maximum whatever ISEE says.

For applicants with a non-Italian degree: "Admission is subject to verification of the comparability of the qualification and to an assessment of the consistency of the academic background with the objectives of the Master's Degree Programme in Aeronautical Engineering." A two year Master of Science taught in English at the Milano Bovisa campus covering aerodynamics, structures and materials, aircraft systems and equipment, and aerospace propulsion. It suits graduates of aerospace or closely related bachelor programmes who want to design and manage complex, high technology systems.
The Master's Degree Programme in Aeronautical Engineering aims to educate engineers capable of operating in environments characterised by a high degree of interdisciplinarity, advanced technological content, and stringent efficiency and safety requirements, within an international and continuously evolving labour market.
The university's full description
Graduates in Aeronautical Engineering are able to analyse, understand and manage not only issues specific to the aeronautical sector, but also those arising in related scientific and technological fields where expertise in the design and development of complex, high-technology systems, subject to constant innovation, is required.
From a technical and scientific perspective, the objective of the programme is to provide highly qualified professionals with a strong cultural and technical background, capable of undertaking and managing research and design activities in the fields of aerodynamics, structures and materials, aircraft systems and equipment, and aerospace propulsion. The knowledge delivered through the various modules is embedded within an educational framework that, in addition to ensuring its acquisition, is designed to foster interdisciplinary integration skills and to develop the ability to address new and complex problems with scientific rigour.
In the first year, students consolidate their advanced foundations in aeronautical engineering through four compulsory modules covering atmospheric flight dynamics, aerodynamics, aerospace structures, and aeroelasticity. These modules constitute the core educational activities underpinning the knowledge and competences of the aeronautical engineer. During the first year, students are also required to select three additional modules: one core, or characterising, module related to the distinctive disciplines of aeronautical engineering, and two complementary modules drawn from subject areas closely related to aerospace engineering.
The second year offers a broad and diversified range of modules, enabling students to define their individual academic pathway in line with their interests and aptitudes. Students choose to emphasise either discipline specific core subjects or multidisciplinary related topics, thereby aligning their personal interests and skills with the competence profiles demanded by the labour market. The programme also includes modules aimed at developing and refining technical writing and presentation skills, as well as introducing students to research methodologies in the field of aeronautics.
The programme concludes with the Master's Thesis, a design-oriented or research-based project of high technical and scientific content, which may also be carried out in collaboration with aerospace companies, research centres, or international institutions. The thesis represents a synthesis of the competences acquired and provides direct engagement with real-world challenges in the sector.
