Politecnico di Milano does not price degrees individually. One all inclusive contribution covers any programme and is scaled by ISEE, the Italian measure of household income and assets, from 157.04 euro at the bottom of the scale to 3,943.04 euro at the top. The figure here is the top, because the university states that an international student in the reserved non EU category, admitted with a first level qualification obtained abroad and holding no scholarship, pays the maximum whatever ISEE says.

The degree
About this degree.
A three year Laurea at the Milano Bovisa campus in energy conversion and the rational use of energy, crossing thermodynamics, mechanics, chemistry and electrical engineering, with four third year tracks. It suits a student who wants either to continue to a master's in energy or nuclear engineering, or to enter employment directly through a track with a mandatory internship.
The Energy Engineering programme trains specialists in energy conversion and in the rational use of energy. The Politecnico di Milano opens its account of the degree by noting that energy lies at the core of almost everything we use in our daily lives, and describes energy engineers as working across thermodynamics, mechanics, chemistry and electrical engineering.
The university's full description
The page lists what these professionals do: designing and maintaining energy production and distribution systems, managing and improving existing technologies, contributing to energy planning initiatives, assessing the environmental impact and safety of plants, and collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
The first year covers mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, technical drawing and materials science. The second year covers theoretical mechanics, fluid mechanics, statistics, thermal engineering, industrial plants and electrical systems.
The third year offers four tracks. E1N prepares for the MSc in Energy Engineering, with fluid machines and HVAC systems. E3N prepares for the MSc in Nuclear Engineering, with nuclear principles and radiation protection. E4N covers fluid machines and energy systems and is employment focused, with a mandatory internship. E5N covers energy efficiency and building systems and is also employment focused, with a mandatory internship. Students may select 15 ECTS credits freely in the third year.
The course page notes that Italian legislation, Law 10/91, requires companies with significant energy consumption to appoint a technician responsible for the conservation and efficient use of energy. Bachelor's graduates may sit the state examination for Section B of the Order of Engineers, the junior engineers section, in Industrial Engineering.
The programme lasts three years and is taught in Italian at the Milano Bovisa campus, in the School of Industrial and Information Engineering. The programme coordinator is Prof. Paolo Chiesa.
