The money

What you pay, and what you must prove you have.

Two different things, kept apart on purpose: a bill you pay, and a balance a visa officer needs to see that never gets spent.

What you pay

Tuition, per year

about PKR 1,267,000

Why this figure, and not a lower one

Italian state fees usually scale with an assessed household indicator. Where the call states one figure it appears above; where it states a scale, this page says so rather than averaging it.

Politecnico di Milano does not price degrees individually. One all inclusive contribution covers any programme and is scaled by ISEE, the Italian measure of household income and assets, from 157.04 euro at the bottom of the scale to 3,943.04 euro at the top. The figure here is the top, because the university states that an international student in the reserved non EU category, admitted with a first level qualification obtained abroad and holding no scholarship, pays the maximum whatever ISEE says.

Paid to the university when you submit. Non-refundable, and separate from anything the visa itself costs.

  • Health cover, minimum

    €30,000

How these two are decided

Funds you must show: in your own account, or evidenced by a sponsor or an award. Cash is refused.

Health cover: emergency treatment and repatriation, across the Schengen area, for as long as the visa lasts.

Who may hold the money, and the refusal of cash, are the embassy’s own rules for a study visa rather than the university’s.

Before any of it counts

Start the legalisation chain first

A degree awarded outside Europe has to be attested and legalised before an Italian university reads it. That chain is decided by the country you apply from, and no office on it publishes a turnaround.

The degree

About this degree.

An English taught three year Laurea at the Cremona campus that trains engineers to design, control and optimise industrial processes, with a strong emphasis on digitalisation, sustainability and systems thinking. It suits students drawn to how raw materials become chemicals, energy, pharmaceuticals and food, and who want project based learning with industry.

The BSc in Process Engineering at Politecnico di Milano is an international programme designed to train engineers capable of managing and transforming industrial processes with a focus on digitalisation, sustainability, and system-wide innovation.

The university's full description

Students will build a solid foundation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and engineering, while developing specialised knowledge in areas such as modelling and simulation, advanced automation, process control, and mechatronics. The programme also introduces students to data analytics, artificial intelligence, decision-making and digital twin technologies, which are increasingly shaping the future of industrial systems and production processes.

The course structure promotes a synergic and interdisciplinary approach, combining theory with practice through project-based learning, labs, industrial-scale pilots and collaborations with industry. Entirely taught in English and located in Cremona, the programme connects academic excellence with real-world relevance, preparing future engineers to design and optimise safe, efficient and digitally integrated industrial processes.

The programme is organised over three years, divided into semesters. Students begin by building a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science, together with introductory engineering subjects. As they progress, they are introduced to core topics in industrial and information engineering, such as automation, materials, management, and production systems. To support the learning of basic sciences, the programme includes Engineering Corners, interdisciplinary lab activities offered in the earlier semesters, designed to consolidate fundamental knowledge and develop familiarity with digital tools and modelling techniques.

In the final year, students deepen their understanding of plant design, sustainable and circular engineering, and the digitalisation of industrial processes. This includes specialised topics such as model identification, data analysis, digital twin development, and process simulation. Students also choose elective courses to personalise their learning path. The programme culminates in a Capstone Project, which may include an internship, project work, or collaborative initiative with industry research institutions.

Teaching combines scientific rigour with a strong emphasis on practical application. Courses integrate lectures with labs, group work, and project-based activities. Students engage with simulation software, data-driven decision-making, and real-world case studies provided by industrial partners. Assessment methods may include in-class activities, assignments, mid-term evaluations, and traditional exams.

One programme, one university, once a year.

That is what Universitaly allows. Three questions tell you where you stand before you spend that choice: the degree level, what the visa wants in the bank, and how much calendar is left.
