Politecnico di Milano does not price degrees individually. One all inclusive contribution covers any programme and is scaled by ISEE, the Italian measure of household income and assets, from 157.04 euro at the bottom of the scale to 3,943.04 euro at the top. The figure here is the top, because the university states that an international student in the reserved non EU category, admitted with a first level qualification obtained abroad and holding no scholarship, pays the maximum whatever ISEE says.

A two year Master of Science at Politecnico di Milano that trains computer engineers across software and hardware, with advanced study in artificial intelligence, big data, human computer interaction, cybersecurity and advanced hardware architectures. It suits graduates of a four year computer science or computer engineering bachelor who want a specialised profile and are ready for a restricted, documents based admission at the Milano Leonardo campus.
The MSc in Computer Science and Engineering, in Italian Ingegneria Informatica, is a two year Master of Science taught in English at the Milano Leonardo campus of Politecnico di Milano. The official programme page describes it as training professionals who are not only able to code, but also to tackle and solve complex problems with a solid engineering approach, working on both software and hardware. Compared with the bachelor, the university says the master gives a more specialised and competitive professional profile, with advanced studies in areas such as artificial intelligence, big data, human computer interaction, cybersecurity and advanced hardware architectures.
The university's full description
The degree is worth 120 credits over two years: 100 credits of coursework and 20 credits for the thesis. Politecnico di Milano offers three pre approved study plans. Two are vertical tracks, the Business and Innovation plan, code T2D, and the Artificial Intelligence plan, code T2I. The third, the Computer Science and Engineering plan, code T2A, is broad and flexible.
Admission is restricted. For academic year 2026/2027 the university published 580 places for this degree at Milano Leonardo, of which 75 are reserved for non EU students, and a separate allocation of 125 places for the Artificial Intelligence pre approved study plan, 15 of them for non EU students. There is no entrance examination. Applicants are assessed on the documents they upload, and the programme page states that a foreign applicant holding a bachelor in computer science and engineering has a good chance of being admitted, although with some additional requirements, while admission is more complex for those who have completed a different programme.
Applicants coming from a different field may be admitted with obligations, meaning mandatory additional courses added to the study plan to fill gaps. The programme page says that for such candidates admission requires that the applicant has completed at least some fundamental courses in computer science, basic scientific subjects, and engineering.
Applications are made through the university wide Master of Science procedure for candidates with a foreign qualification. You may apply once per semester, for up to two Master of Science programmes at a time, as first and second choice. The first semester begins in September and the second semester starts in February. Engineering programmes accept students for both semesters.
Italian is not an entry requirement for this English taught degree, but international students admitted to an English taught master must prove knowledge of Italian before sitting the final degree examination.

Taken from the T2A study plan, the general Computer Science and Engineering track, academic year 2026/2027, Milano Leonardo campus, taught in English. The plan names only these seven compulsory 1st Year courses and the final examination. The rest of the degree is chosen from elective groups: 25 credits in the 1st Year and 40 credits in the 2nd Year. The groups are AUT, BIO, INT1, INT2, MAT, TABA, TABB, TEL, DOT, SOFT SKILLS, TABELLA SWT INF, TABELLA SWT INTER and TAB ENHANCE, the last being reserved to students in the Enhance programme. TABA and TABB are the main computer science tables. The plan gives each elective course a semester but never a year, so elective rows are not transcribed here rather than guessed. Two other pre-approved plans run alongside T2A: T2D, ICT Engineering, Business and Innovation, and T2I, Artificial Intelligence, which has closed enrolment. A student may propose an autonomous study plan differing from T2A by at most 20 credits. Is my Pakistani bachelor degree accepted for this MSc?
Only if it is a four year continuous programme. The country specific requirements page states: "We do not accept 2+2 year bachelor degrees. We accept only 4-year continuous bachelor programmes (in line with HEC new bachelor's degree policy)". Your qualification must also give access to Level 7 EQF and contain subjects closely related to the MSc you apply to.
What CGPA do I need as a Pakistani applicant?
The published minimum for Pakistan is 3.3 out of 4. Politecnico di Milano states the CGPA requirements are strict and no exceptions will be considered: if your CGPA is below the minimum, the university will not proceed with the evaluation of your candidature. You must also upload a letter issued by your university stating your weighted average score, alongside your transcripts.

How much will I actually pay per year?
Politecnico di Milano charges an annual all inclusive contribution worked out from the ISEE indicator of your household's income and assets and from the ECTS credits in your study plan, from 157.04 euro at the low end up to a maximum of 3,943.04 euro. A non EU international student admitted to a master's programme with a first level qualification obtained abroad, and holding no scholarship from the university, another institution or the Diritto allo Studio, pays the maximum even if an ISEE or Equalised ISEEU is submitted. It is paid as a first instalment of 880.04 euro on enrolment and a second instalment in May of 0 to 3,003 euro.
How many places are there, and is there an entrance exam?
For academic year 2026/2027 the official table lists 580 places for Computer Science and Engineering at Milano Leonardo, of which 75 are for non EU students, plus 125 places for the Artificial Intelligence pre approved study plan, of which 15 are for non EU students.
