On timing, the certificate "is not compulsory to complete the online application process and to start your evaluation, but it is MANDATORY in order to obtain your admission letter, to be considered for merit-based scholarships, to obtain the Visa and to enrol at Politecnico di Milano", and it "does not influence the outcome of your evaluation and can be provided after the application deadline". Italian is not needed to enter this programme. Politecnico asks for proof of Italian at enrolment only for programmes taught entirely in Italian, or in Italian and English. It is needed before you graduate. The university states that an Italian language proficiency test is mandatory for international students admitted to all English language Laurea Magistrale programmes, and that you must certify the language before sitting the graduation exam. A student admitted without it carries an Italian OFA, an additional learning obligation, and has to clear it before graduating.”

Politecnico di Milano does not price degrees individually. One all inclusive contribution covers any programme and is scaled by ISEE, the Italian measure of household income and assets, from 157.04 euro at the bottom of the scale to 3,943.04 euro at the top. The figure here is the top, because the university states that an international student in the reserved non EU category, admitted with a first level qualification obtained abroad and holding no scholarship, pays the maximum whatever ISEE says.

A two year Master of Science at the Piacenza campus that treats architecture and landscape design as one sustainability driven practice, responding to climate change, resource depletion and environmental degradation. It suits architecture graduates who want a design research track and a portfolio built around sites, ecology and public space.
The Master of Science in Sustainable Architecture and Landscape Design shall respond to the immediate threats of climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation. The programme is designed for graduates who wish to explore how architecture and landscape can engage with contemporary cultural, political, media, environmental and justice issues, and it considers the potential for architecture and landscape to become activators of a sustainable future.
The university's full description
In the title SALd, sustainable is a unifying concept, indicating that both architecture and landscape design should adhere to sustainability principles. Both elements are designed to work together in an environmentally responsible way, promoting efficiency, resource conservation, and long term environmental health.
The SALd programme offers a design research track for the next generation of architects who wish to develop their original research agenda and design practice. It places architecture and landscape in an expanded context, inviting students to critically examine the fields, questioning their definitions, sites, scales, concerns, methods, media and underlying values. Moving beyond the traditional focus on form, the programme explores the planetary processes affecting land and life, emphasising specific sites and situated perspectives. This broadened approach encourages the integration of knowledge and methodologies from related disciplines while centred on design research to create more liveable futures.
Subjects include theories of architecture, city and landscape, History of Architecture and Landscape in the Contemporary Age, Structures and Technical Environmental System, Architectural Design Studio 1, Sociology of the Environment, an Urban and environmental design studio, an Urban and landscape Regeneration Studio, Landscape Representation and BIM Applications, a Landscape Design Studio and Architectural Design Studio 2. Elective courses include Topography and Cartography, Innovation for Design Management, Creativity and Architecture in the Movies, Italian Territories and Landscape Tradition, and Architectural Strategies in Risk Situations. The programme closes with a Final Workshop in landscape, architecture design, urban design and environmental design.
