Politecnico di Milano does not price degrees individually. One all inclusive contribution covers any programme and is scaled by ISEE, the Italian measure of household income and assets, from 157.04 euro at the bottom of the scale to 3,943.04 euro at the top. The figure here is the top, because the university states that an international student in the reserved non EU category, admitted with a first level qualification obtained abroad and holding no scholarship, pays the maximum whatever ISEE says.

About this degree.
A five year single cycle Laurea Magistrale at the Lecco campus that teaches students to manage design projects in both their architectural and engineering dimensions, with twelve design laboratories and work on structures, technology, energy control and the sustainable regeneration of the built environment. It suits students who want to be responsible for the whole construction process and who, after the State Examinations, may register with both the professional register of engineers and that of architects.
The single cycle Master of Science programme in Building Engineering and Architecture offers a multidisciplinary education that enables students to manage design projects in both their architectural and engineering dimensions.
The university's full description
The Building Engineer and Architect is a professional capable of designing and managing architectural works as the person responsible for the entire construction process, integrating architectural, technological, structural and environmental aspects. This professional develops advanced skills both in the adoption of the most innovative construction technologies for new buildings and in interventions on existing structures, with particular attention to the sustainable regeneration of the built environment. Added to this is the ability to address the relationship between settlements and their context within landscape and environmental assessment.
At the end of the study programme, after passing the State Examinations, graduates may register with both the professional register of engineers and that of architects. Furthermore, in accordance with Directive 85/384/EEC, the awarded degree allows access to the profession of designer in other European Union countries without the need to apply for recognition of the qualification at a foreign university.
The programme is a five year course with a wide range of subjects, including 12 design laboratories. It is based on solid foundations in scientific, technical and design disciplines and trains professionals capable of effectively managing the complexity of architectural projects and their implementation, fully aligned with the emerging demands for environmental quality, energy control and sustainability.
Graduates are able to address design in all its complexity, ensuring architectural design skills at both building and urban scales; scientific and technical expertise to tackle issues of environmental and energy sustainability, in both new construction and the rehabilitation of existing heritage; use of innovative, state of the art technologies; control and modelling of physical and technical phenomena to reduce energy demand and employ renewable energy sources; and management of the entire construction and administrative process of new buildings.
