The money
What you pay, and what you must prove you have.
Two different things, kept apart on purpose: a bill you pay, and a balance a visa officer needs to see that never gets spent.
What you pay
Tuition, per year
€3,943.04
about PKR 1,267,000
Why this figure, and not a lower one
Italian state fees usually scale with an assessed household indicator. Where the call states one figure it appears above; where it states a scale, this page says so rather than averaging it.
Politecnico di Milano does not price degrees individually. One all inclusive contribution covers any programme and is scaled by ISEE, the Italian measure of household income and assets, from 157.04 euro at the bottom of the scale to 3,943.04 euro at the top. The figure here is the top, because the university states that an international student in the reserved non EU category, admitted with a first level qualification obtained abroad and holding no scholarship, pays the maximum whatever ISEE says.

Paid to the university when you submit. Non-refundable, and separate from anything the visa itself costs.
What you must prove you have
Funds you must show, per year

Health cover, minimum

How these two are decided
Funds you must show: in your own account, or evidenced by a sponsor or an award. Cash is refused.
Health cover: emergency treatment and repatriation, across the Schengen area, for as long as the visa lasts.

Who may hold the money, and the refusal of cash, are the embassy’s own rules for a study visa rather than the university’s.

Before any of it counts
Start the legalisation chain first
A degree awarded outside Europe has to be attested and legalised before an Italian university reads it. That chain is decided by the country you apply from, and no office on it publishes a turnaround.

The degree
About this degree.
A three year Laurea of 180 ECTS credits in Milan that combines engineering principles with medicine and biology, moving from mathematics, physics and chemistry to biomechanics, biochemistry, biomaterials, bioelectromagnetism and biomedical instrumentation. It suits students who want to design medical devices, instruments, materials and systems for prevention, diagnosis, therapy and rehabilitation, working alongside physicians and biologists.
Life Sciences represent one of the most dynamic and strategic areas of scientific and technological development worldwide. They include disciplines that place human beings at the centre, such as healthcare, environment, nutrition, gene therapy and biotechnology. Biomedical Engineering combines engineering principles with medicine and biology to develop innovative technologies aimed at improving human health and quality of life.
The university's full description
Biomedical engineers design medical devices, instruments, materials and systems for disease prevention, diagnosis, therapy and rehabilitation, working closely with physicians, biologists and other specialists.
The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering is a three year programme of 180 ECTS credits designed to provide a strong foundation in engineering sciences, integrated with basic medical and biological knowledge. The first year focuses on basic sciences, namely Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, which form the foundation for engineering problem solving. The second year introduces core engineering subjects and the first discipline specific courses in Biomedical Engineering. The third year covers key topics such as biomechanics, biochemistry, biomaterials, bioelectromagnetism, biomedical instrumentation and technologies.
In the third year, students may choose between a professional track with a professional internship in hospitals, clinical centres or biomedical companies, or a propedeutic track with a project based course, aimed at students intending to continue with a Master of Science degree.
