As printed on the call, the accented form is "Modalità di ammissione". Admission is granted by checking curricular requirements and personal preparation. The call publishes no place limit, no ranking and no entrance exam. The call links applicants to section 9 of Sapienza's International Student Office page, which is headed "Master's degree courses with requirements and personal knowledge assessment, without preselection and without pre-acceptance letter". The words "accesso libero" are not printed on any page for this programme.”

What the call asks for
A Bachelor's degree of at least three years, or another qualification earned in Italy or abroad and recognised as suitable under Italian law.
A weighted average of 22/30 or higher across all marked credits counted towards the Bachelor's degree. The call states: "Sono ammessi coloro per i quali la media ponderata delle votazioni conseguite nella laurea di primo livello e uguale o maggiore di 22/30."
A strong base in physics and mathematics. At least 39 CFU in the subject areas MAT/03, MAT/05, MAT/06, MAT/07, MAT/08, FIS/01 and CHIM/07.
Further CFU in industrial engineering subject areas. The exact tables change with your average: one table for an average of 22/30 up to 24/30, a second for 24/30 up to 27/30, and a third for 27/30 and above. At 27/30 and above an Italian L-9 industrial engineering degree satisfies the requirement on its own.
Applicants who do not meet the curricular requirements may take single exams (esami singoli) assigned by the admission commission to make up the missing credits.
Holders of a degree earned outside Italy are assessed by the admission commission, which examines the curriculum, the motivation, and any study abroad, internships and work experience. The commission may call the candidate to an interview.
A good command of written and spoken English. No test and no score are named.
For non-EU citizens living abroad who need a study visa: a B2 level Italian language certificate from a CLIQ institution, or a pass in the Sapienza CISIA ITA L2 test at B2. Sapienza exempts only students enrolling in degree programmes taught entirely in English, and this degree is taught in Italian and English.
Applicants who have not yet graduated may request the requirements check, provided they graduate by 19 December 2026 if their degree comes from another Italian or international university, or by 23 January 2027 if it comes from Sapienza.

The first year is the same for every student. It is six modules worth 54 CFU in total. The study plan lists CONTROL SYSTEMS at 9 CFU as the only first year module taught in English. The other five first year modules are taught in Italian, and they cover gas dynamics, air traffic control, aircraft flight dynamics, aircraft propulsion and aeronautical structures.
The second year splits into two curricula. One is Modellistica e analisi per la progettazione aeronautica, which is modelling and analysis for aeronautical design. The other is about flight systems, management and operations in civil aviation. Second year modules are chosen from option groups.
