What the call asks for
An upper secondary school leaving diploma, or a foreign qualification recognised as equivalent (admission notice, Article 1).
A candidate with a qualification from outside Italy must hold an Italian language certificate at B2, or pass the Italian language test run by Roma Tre. Written and oral parts must both be passed. The test costs 70 euro. No other certificate or test is accepted.
An initial preparation assessment: 60 multiple choice questions in 120 minutes on logical skills, reading comprehension and general knowledge. It is compulsory but not selective. The pass threshold is 50 percent correct in each area.
A TOLC-SPS sat anywhere from 1 January 2026 is accepted in place of the university's own test. It is judged insufficient if reading comprehension scores under 6, acquired knowledge under 9, or logic and mathematical language under 9.
The 2024/25 Law Summer School of the Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza, passed at its final test, also counts in place of the assessment.
A candidate who does not sit any assessment is still allowed to enrol, and is assigned the remedial credits automatically.
Non EU citizens living outside Italy must pre-enrol through the Universitaly portal by 15 September 2026 before applying to Roma Tre.

About this degree.
A five year single cycle law degree at Roma Tre, worth 300 credits and taught in Italian on the ordinary route. It suits a student who can already study in Italian and wants to qualify for the Italian legal professions, the judiciary, public administration or European and international bodies.
Law (LMG/01) is a single cycle degree run by the Dipartimento di Giurisprudenza at Roma Tre University. It lasts five years and carries 300 credits. Lessons are held at Via Ostiense 163 in Rome. The course page lists the language of delivery as Italian for the ordinary route and Italian plus English for the Global Legal Studies route.
The university's full description
The study plan is set out in Article 7 of the 2026/2027 teaching regulation. Year one is Istituzioni di diritto pubblico (10), Istituzione di diritto romano (10), Filosofia del diritto (8), Sistemi giuridici comparati (9), Istituzioni di diritto privato I (10) and Economia politica (10). Year two is Diritto costituzionale (9), Istituzioni di diritto privato II (9), Storia del dir. Med.e Mod. (10), Diritto dell'Unione europea (9), Diritto del lavoro (12) and Scienza delle finanze (7), with a 4 credit Lingua pass. Years three to five cover criminal law, commercial law, administrative law, tax law, civil law, international law and both civil and criminal procedure. The degree closes with Lingua giuridica, a second 4 credit pass, and Prova finale worth 19 credits.
Four optional modules make up 28 credits. A student may pick them inside one of five profiles named by the department: Diritto e societa, Forense, Giurista per l'impresa, Giurista internazionale ed europeo, Giurista per la PA. The choice is not binding and a student may move between profiles.
Two tracks sit inside the degree. Global Legal Studies is bilingual Italian and English and is capped at 150 students a year. A student applies for it when filing the Piano di studi by the end of December in the first year, and must hold a Centro Linguistico di Ateneo certificate showing English at B1 or above. Diritto e Finanza lets a graduate go on to a second degree in Finanza e Impresa.
Access is open. Article 4 of the teaching regulation states that the course is ad accesso libero. There is an initial assessment of 60 multiple choice questions over 120 minutes, covering logical skills, reading comprehension and general knowledge. It is compulsory but it does not select. A TOLC-SPS sat from 1 January 2026 is accepted instead. A result below the threshold in one or two areas adds 3 extra credits of remedial work in the first year, on top of the 300.
A candidate holding a qualification from outside Italy must show an Italian language certificate at B2, or pass the Italian language test run by Roma Tre. That test has a written part and an oral part and both must be passed. It costs 70 euro. No English certificate is asked for at admission.
Enrolment is completed by paying the first instalment by 16 November 2026. Late enrolment is allowed until 11 January 2027 with a 60 euro charge. Non EU applicants living outside Italy must first pre-enrol through Universitaly by 15 September 2026.

Do I need IELTS or TOEFL for this degree?
No. This programme's admission notice asks for no English certificate at all. It asks for Italian at B2, by certificate or by passing Roma Tre's own Italian test. Duolingo appears on no Roma Tre list.
What language is the teaching in?
Italian on the ordinary route. The Global Legal Studies route is bilingual Italian and English. You join that route in December of your first year, not at application.
Is there an entrance exam I can fail?
No. The assessment is compulsory but it does not select. A weak score adds 3 credits of remedial work in your first year. It does not stop you enrolling.
What will it cost per year?
Between 156 and 2,246 euro a year, set by your ISEE band. The lowest band pays 156 euro, which is the 16 euro stamp duty plus the 140 euro Lazio regional tax. If you do not file an ISEE you are placed in the top band automatically.
Is there a fee to apply?
Roma Tre publishes no application fee. Two separate charges exist: 70 euro for the Italian language test, and the CISIA fee if you sit a TOLC-SPS.
What is the real deadline for a Pakistani student?
Two dates. Pre-enrolment on Universitaly closes 15 September 2026. Enrolment at Roma Tre is completed by paying the first instalment by 16 November 2026, or by 11 January 2027 with a 60 euro late charge.
