It suits an engineering graduate who can study in Italian, because Roma Tre gives the language of instruction as Italiano even though eight modules are taught in English.
Ingegneria delle Telecomunicazioni is the master's degree in class LM-27 at Universita degli Studi Roma Tre. It runs for two years and carries 120 CFU. It sits in the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale, Elettronica e Meccanica, under the Collegio Didattico di Ingegneria Elettronica. Lessons are held at Via della Vasca Navale, 79 and Via della Vasca Navale, 109 in Rome.

The programme page gives the language of instruction as Italiano. Several modules are taught in English. In the 2026/2027 taught course list, eight entries are marked ENG and the rest are marked ITA. A student who cannot follow lectures in Italian cannot complete this degree.
The first year teaches the shared foundations. It includes ANTENNAS AND WIRELESS PROPAGATION at 9 CFU, DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING at 9 CFU, ADVANCED ENGINEERING ELECTROMAGNETICS at 9 CFU, ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY at 9 CFU, INFORMATION THEORY at 6 CFU, ETHICAL HACKING at 9 CFU and ELETTRONICA DEI SISTEMI PROGRAMMABILI at 9 CFU. Two first year subjects are split into paired modules, NEW GENERATION MOBILE SYSTEMS into DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS and 5G COMMUNICATIONS AND BEYOND, and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE into ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: ALGORITHMS AND METHODS and DESIGN OF LEARNING ALGORITHMS. The second year splits into two curricula. Applied Artificial Intelligence covers artificial intelligence applied to data, signals and telecommunication infrastructure. Wireless Technologies covers advanced wireless systems, antennas, metamaterials and the internet of things. The second year also carries TIROCINIO at 6 CFU and PROVA FINALE DI LAUREA at 12 CFU. The final thesis must be an original written piece prepared with a supervisor.
Access is open. The programme page prints Tipologia di accesso: Libero. There is no entrance exam and no ranked competition for a fixed number of places. Admission still needs a mandatory prior assessment of your transcript, called a domanda di valutazione preventiva della carriera. You file it online and the Collegio Didattico rules on it. The outcome is admitted, not admitted, or admitted subject to condition.
The entry qualification is a first cycle degree in the Italian class of Ingegneria dell'Informazione, L-8 or equivalent. A degree in another class, or a degree awarded abroad, is judged case by case on your transcript. Missing subjects must be cleared before enrolment by registering for single courses and passing their exams, and in any case by 28 February. The regolamento didattico says the Collegio Didattico checks your competences on your curriculum and may also test them through an interview.
The regolamento didattico for this degree names no English certificate and prints no minimum score. It asks that you can communicate effectively in written and spoken English, and states that language suitability is recognised by passing verification tests at the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo at Roma Tre or at your own university. IELTS, TOEFL, PTE and Duolingo are not named. The explicit B2 English requirement printed in the 2026-2027 admission call for this department applies to Biomedical Engineering, not to this degree.
Italian is also required. Article 4 of the regolamento says a holder of a foreign qualification has Italian recognised by passing the verification test at the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo. The admission call sets that at level B2, by certificate or by the university's own test, accepts no other certificate or test, requires both a written and an oral part, and charges 70,00 euro to sit it.
Roma Tre publishes no application fee for this degree. The annual contributo di iscrizione is graded on the ISEE household income indicator. For a laurea magistrale in 2026/2027 the published table runs from 156,00 euro in the lowest band with the partial exemption under Article 22, up to 2.246,00 euro in band 88 for an ISEE above 100.000,01 euro. The first instalment already includes the 16,00 euro stamp duty and the 140,00 euro regional tax. A student who does not file an ISEE is placed in the top band.
Applications for the prior career assessment opened on 7 April 2026 and close on 15 September 2026. A supplementary window runs to 15 December 2026 and adds 60,00 euro per application, charged whatever the outcome. Results are published by 6 October 2026. Enrolment runs from 7 April 2026 to 16 November 2026. Applicants admitted subject to condition enrol by 31 March 2027. For the first teaching period of 2026/2027 the department sets master's lessons from 21 September 2026 to 23 December 2026.
