A first cycle degree in the Italian classes of Ingegneria dell'Informazione or Ingegneria Industriale under DM 509/99 or DM 270/04, or a degree in Ingegneria under the system in force before DM 509/99.
A degree in another class, or any degree awarded outside Italy, is assessed one case at a time by the Collegio Didattico against the applicant's own record of study.
English at level B2 of the Common European Framework or higher. The level must be certified at the moment of enrolment.

A candidate still studying may apply if they expect to graduate by March 2027. Admission is then granted subject to that condition.

The compulsory core of the 2026/2027 plan starts with BIOMATERIALS, split into MODULE 1 and MODULE 2, NEURAL AND REHABILITATION ENGINEERING and ELECTROMAGNETISM FOR BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING. The second semester of year one adds BIOMEDICAL DATA PROCESSING, DESIGN OF BIOMEDICAL DEVICES and MACHINE LEARNING FOR BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING. Year two makes CLINICAL ENGINEERING and MEDICAL DEVICES AND SYSTEMS compulsory. Around those the plan asks the student to pick blocks of 27 CFU and 6 CFU from a shared list of options. The options printed for 2026/2027 include TELEMEDICINE, SOLID MECHANICS IN MEDICINE AND BIOLOGY, HUMAN MOVEMENT BIOMECHANICS, ADVANCED ENGINEERING ELECTROMAGNETICS, ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY, ADVANCED ELECTRICAL MEASUREMENT TECHNOLOGIES FOR BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS, PHOTOBIOLOGY, AFFECTIVE COMPUTING and BIOMETRICS AND MULTISENSORIAL INTERACTION. The degree closes with a TIROCINIO worth 6 CFU and a PROVA FINALE DI LAUREA worth 12 CFU.

Access is libero. Roma Tre prints that word on the programme page. It means there is no fixed number of places and no written entrance examination. Every applicant must still file a domanda di valutazione preventiva della carriera, because the permission to enrol depends on its outcome. The Collegio Didattico reads a degree awarded outside Italy case by case, against the applicant's transcript. The teaching regulation says the check may also be made through an interview. Any subject the Collegio Didattico finds missing has to be taken as a single course and passed before enrolment, and by 28 February at the latest.
The English requirement for this degree is level B2 of the Common European Framework.
