ICT and Internet Engineering

The first year is fixed. The 2026/2027 plan sets four taught courses: INTERNET TECHNOLOGY AND PROTOCOLS (9 CFU), DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS (6 CFU), MOBILE WIRELESS NETWORKS (9 CFU) and RADAR AND LOCALIZATION (9 CFU). The rest of the first year and all of the second year come from two published groups of optional courses. The plan then carries OPTIONAL COURSES worth 12 CFU, FORMATIVE ACTIVITIES worth 3 CFU and a FINAL EXAM worth 18 CFU. The programme's own Study Plans page gives the totals as 87 mandatory credits, 12 optional credits, 3 credits of formative activities and 18 credits for the thesis.

Your choice of optional courses is what shapes the degree. The course website names five suggested paths: Cybersecurity, Internet of Things and Cloud, Space Integrated Systems, Sensing Systems and Connectivity Infrastructures. Your study plan has to be approved by the course advisory board. The delivery deadline for a master's study plan is 31 January each year.

Admission is open access with a check of your curricular requirements. You need a three year bachelor's degree in class L-8 (Information Engineering) or L-9 (Industrial Engineering), or a foreign equivalent. The course also sets minimum credits by subject sector: at least 24 CFU in algebra, geometry, mathematical analysis, probability, numerical analysis or operational research; at least 12 CFU in physics; at least 9 CFU in telecommunications; and at least 9 CFU in electronics, electromagnetic fields or information processing systems. A foreign degree with no direct match to these sectors is assessed by the Degree Programme Committee.

After the curricular check there is an interview on maths, geometry, physics, telecommunications, information processing, electronics and electromagnetic fields. International applicants with a cumulative GPA above 85 per cent are exempt from that interview. Italian applicants with a weighted average above 24.5 out of 30 are exempt too. Nobody is exempt from the English check.

English is settled by the medium of instruction. If your bachelor's degree was taught in English you do not have to produce any certificate. If it was not, you need a certificate at CEFR B2, and the course page states the minimum scores as IELTS 6.0, TOEFL IBT 65, TOEFL PBT 513 or TOEFL CBT 183. If you cannot produce a certificate at all, the course may assess your English in an interview instead. Duolingo is not accepted.

Money. Tor Vergata charges 156 euro of fixed items every year, which is 140 euro of Lazio regional tax plus 16 euro of stamp duty. On top of that you pay an all inclusive contribution. ICT and Internet Engineering is not one of the named English taught programmes that the 2026/2027 Student Handbook puts in a higher band, so it sits in contribution class 1. For an international student whose ISEE cannot be calculated and who first enrolled in 2020/2021 or later, the handbook sets a flat yearly contribution of 1,000 euro, or 500 euro for students from the countries it lists as developing. That is 1,156 euro a year in total for most international students and 656 euro for students from the listed countries. If you do file an ISEE-Universita in Italy, the contribution is income based instead and runs from 0 up to 2,270 euro a year under ordinary taxation.

Applying. Non-EU applicants living abroad use the DELPHI assessment procedure, which opens on 1 March and closes on 30 April each year. It costs 30 euro, paid through PagoPA and then validated online. If you are admitted you receive a conditional acceptance letter, and the condition is a CIMEA Statement of Comparability granting access to a second cycle course in Italy. You then pre-enrol on Universitaly to get your visa appointment. Classes start at the end of September.
