The university's full description
The published study plan for 2026 offers two curricula. The first is Design and Engineering of Transport Systems. The second is Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Urban Mobility. Taught units in the first curriculum include Sustainable transport planning, Traffic engineering and ITS, TRANSPORT MODELLING AND PLANNING and RAILWAY ENGINEERING. Optional units cover air transport, maritime transport, road safety, freight transport and logistics, public transport management, geolocation and navigation, and programming for transport systems. The first curriculum ends with a final exam worth 21 credits. The second ends with a master thesis carried out together with a company internship, worth 30 credits.
Entry is by verification of requirements, not by a ranked entrance exam. Applicants need a three year bachelor's degree in engineering, or a qualification recognised as equivalent to it. The call sets minimum credits in named subject sectors. It asks for 18 credits in mathematics sectors, 12 credits in chemistry, physics and industrial engineering sectors, and 18 credits in civil engineering sectors. Applicants holding an international bachelor's degree also need a minimum cumulative GPA of 72 out of 100. The programme states in writing that there is no admission test.
English must be at CEFR level B2 or above. The university's academic requirements sheet for this programme accepts IELTS 5.5 or higher, TOEFL iBT 80 or higher, Cambridge English B2 First or higher, and Trinity College London ISE II or higher. Duolingo is not accepted for a degree at Sapienza. On that same sheet, a degree taught in English removes the test only if it was issued by an accredited institution in the EU, EEA or Schengen area, or in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States. The safe plan for a Pakistani applicant is to sit a test unless the programme confirms otherwise in writing.
Sapienza does not publish one tuition figure for this programme. Fees depend on declared income. A student who declares income outside Italy pays a fixed yearly contribution set by a country band. Pakistan is listed in Band A, which was 300 euro a year under the regulation on the site at the time of reading. Band B was 700 euro and Band C was 1500 euro. A student assessed on Italian income pays up to 2924 euro a year in this faculty. A regional tax of 140 euro and a stamp duty of 16 euro are added. Applying has two stages. International applicants first complete an online pre-selection on the MoveIN platform to obtain a pre-acceptance letter.
