Management Engineering

The programme starts with a common core. The core teaches how firms set their boundaries and how markets work. It then covers production, materials, logistics and supply chain management. It also covers automatic control, operations research and optimisation. After the core, a student picks one of five curricula.

The five curricula are Gestione delle organizzazioni, Gestione dei sistemi industriali, Economia e gestione dell'innovazione e della tecnologia, Metodi e modelli per il supporto alle decisioni, and Artificial intelligence and data analytics in management. Four of them have core courses in Italian, with some electives in English. Only Artificial intelligence and data analytics in management is delivered entirely in English, core courses included. A student who does not read Italian should plan on that curriculum.

The study plan for that English curriculum lists these first year modules: Industrial Organization at 12 CFU, Operations Management at 9 CFU, PROCESS IDENTIFICATION AND CONTROL at 9 CFU, an Elective course block at 12 CFU, and Integer Programming and Combinatorial Optimization at 12 CFU. The second year lists OPTIMIZATION METHODS FOR MACHINE LEARNING at 6 CFU, MANAGEMENT CONTROL SYSTEMS at 6 CFU, Project Management at 9 CFU, and a Final exam at 18 CFU. Optional groups add modules such as Reinforcement Learning, STATISTICAL LEARNING, Process Management and Mining, Games and equilibria, Data Driven Economics, Project Finance and SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONS AND SUPPLY CHAIN.

Sapienza sets English scores separately for each programme. This one asks for CEFR B2 shown by IELTS 5.5 or higher, TOEFL iBT 80 or higher, Cambridge English B2 First or higher, or Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English ISE II or higher. Duolingo is not accepted. The waiver is capped by country. It covers an English taught diploma or degree from an accredited institution in the EU, EEA or Schengen area, or in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Pakistan is not on that list. A Pakistani degree taught in English therefore does not waive the test for this programme.

The programme's own call for applications adds one route the Academic Requirements document does not mention. A candidate may show B2 with a CEFR certificate, or with at least 3 credits already earned in an English Language Proficiency course in the sector L-LIN/12. A candidate holding neither must sit an interview to assess their English.

The minimum GPA is 85 out of 100. That is higher than the 75 most Sapienza programmes set. Applicants are expected to hold an undergraduate degree in Management Engineering or a related scientific area. The Academic Requirements document names the specific background wanted: Accounting Capital Budgeting, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Operations Research. Selected students may be asked to sit an online test on that background.

Access is not capped. The Italian catalogue page records the access mode as "Verifica dei requisiti e della preparazione personale", which is verification of entry requirements and personal preparation. The English call is titled an admission procedure with assessment of entry requirements and personal knowledge. There is no ranked merit list and no fixed number of places on the published pages.

Two different fees exist and they belong to two different stages. The pre-selection application on the MoveIN platform costs 30 euro per submitted application, with a maximum of two applications per student per academic year. The programme's own call charges 10,00 euro for the eligibility check, paid through Infostud using code 33512. Enrolment fees are separate again.

Tuition is set by the university, not by the programme. This faculty sits in the second contribution bracket, where the full annual fee is 2,924 euro, reducible on the basis of an ISEE income assessment. A student who files a tax return abroad and cannot produce an ISEE pays a fixed annual contribution set by country band instead. Pakistan is listed in Band A, where the total is 300 euro a year, paid as 90 euro, 105 euro and 105 euro.

Lectures for the 2026-2027 academic year start on Wednesday 23 September 2026 and the first series runs to 22 December 2026. The second series runs from 22 February 2027 to 28 May 2027. Those dates are the faculty calendar, not the programme's own.
