A two year Master's degree at Sapienza in electrical power engineering, offered in four curricula of which only one is taught in English. It suits an engineering graduate who already holds credits in electrical engineering and a first degree mark of 90/110 or higher.
Sapienza runs this degree as the Corso di laurea magistrale in Ingegneria dell'Energia Elettrica. The course catalogue lists it in English as Electrical Engineering. The official call names it the Master's Degree programme in Electrical Power Engineering. It lasts two years and leads to a degree in class LM-28. The programme code on Infostud is 33492. The programme has four curricula. Only one of them is taught in English. That one is called Electrical Engineering for Digital Transition and Sustainable Power Systems. The other three are taught in Italian. They are Generale, Sistemi Elettrici Smart per la Sostenibilità Energetica, and Veicoli Elettrici e Green Mobility. If you do not speak Italian, the English curriculum is the only one you can follow. This is why the catalogue card lists the language as Italian, English.
The English curriculum covers electrical power systems, machines, power electronics and grids. Its compulsory modules include ELECTRICAL MACHINES, ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS, ELECTROTECHNICS, RENEWABLES, POWER ELECTRONICS, ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY and SMART AND MICRO GRIDS. The second year ends with THESIS WORK, worth 15 CFU. Optional modules include ELECTRICAL COMMUNICATIONS, BIG DATA COMPUTING, Artificial Intelligence, OPTIMIZATION AND DECISION SCIENCE, Control of Communication and Energy Networks, SMART METERING and POWER SYSTEMS FOR ELECTRICAL TRANSPORTATION.
