Development and International Cooperation Studies is a two year master's degree at Sapienza University of Rome. Its Italian degree class is LM-81 and its programme code is 33629. Three faculties run it together: Political Science, Sociology and Communication; Economics; and Arts and Philosophy. The administering department is the Department of Social Sciences and Economics. The university's full description
The degree runs two tracks. One track is taught entirely in Italian. The other is taught entirely in English, and its curriculum is named Political, Economic and Social Studies. Each track has its own set of elective groups. Students formalise their choices in a study plan, which the programme says must be submitted by 30 May each year.
The first year builds a base across several subjects. Sapienza lists demography, statistics and economics, politics and sociology, history and geography, and law and anthropology. The first year also includes workshops and labs. The second year goes deeper into the actors and processes of international cooperation, the methods used in the field, and the effect of natural and agricultural resources on development. The final exam is worth 18 CFU.
Entry is open to graduates of the Italian degree classes L-36 and L-37 who hold English at CEFR level B2. Graduates of other degree classes may also apply. Standard tuition for this programme is 2,821 euro a year, because all three of its faculties sit in Sapienza's first contribution bracket.
