Artificial Intelligence and Robotics

Year one, first semester, carries Artificial Intelligence, MACHINE LEARNING, ROBOTICS I and Robot programming. Year one, second semester, carries Computer Vision and ROBOTICS II. Year two carries AUTONOMOUS AND MOBILE ROBOTICS, then SEMINARS IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ROBOTICS and a Final exam worth 30 CFU. The student must take 18 CFU from a further list. That list holds Research topics in Artificial Intelligence, NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURES, Reinforcement Learning, FOUNDATIONS OF ROBOT PERCEPTION, NEURAL NETWORKS, MEDICAL ROBOTICS, Planning and Reasoning, Neuroengineering, Multilingual natural language processing and AGILE AND LEGGED ROBOTS. The student must take 6 CFU from INTERACTIVE GRAPHICS or GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. The student must take 12 CFU from Elective in Artificial Intelligence or Elective in Robotics. The plan also sets aside 12 credits that the student chooses.

Access is open. The catalogue records the admission route as verification of requirements and personal preparation. There is no entrance exam and no published cap on places. You must hold a three year bachelor's degree, or a three year university diploma, or a foreign qualification recognised as suitable. You must have earned at least 60 CFU across set subject areas. At least 24 CFU must sit in mathematics, computer science, statistics or physics sectors, and at least 9 of those in mathematics. At least 36 CFU must sit in information engineering, industrial engineering or computer science sectors, and at least 18 of those in ING-INF/05, ING-INF/04 or INF/01. The minimum grade is 75 out of 100. A committee then weighs your average mark, the relevance of your bachelor's programme, your other activities, and an interview if one is required.

English must be at CEFR B2 or higher. For this degree Sapienza publishes IELTS 5.5 or higher and TOEFL iBT 80 or higher. Cambridge English B2 First or higher and Trinity College London ISE II or higher are also accepted. The test is waived only for native speakers of English, for holders of an English taught diploma or degree from the EU, EEA, Schengen area, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States, and for holders of an International Baccalaureate, GCSE or comparable certificate. A degree taught in English in Pakistan does not meet that waiver. A Pakistani applicant must sit one of the accepted tests.

Tuition depends on where your family income is declared. Sapienza places Pakistan in Band A, which is a fixed contribution of 300 euro per year. Band B is 700 euro per year and Band C is 1500 euro per year. A student who declares income in Italy pays up to 2924 euro per year in this faculty, and can pay less on the basis of an ISEE assessment. Sapienza charges 30 euro for each pre-selection application on the MoveIn platform, and a candidate may submit two applications per academic year. The eligibility check on Infostud costs a further 10 euro.

For the 2026-2027 year the programme's own call sets 15 September 2026 as the only eligibility check date for applicants from non-EU countries who need a student visa. The later dates of 15 October, 17 November and 17 December 2026, and 14 January 2027, are open to other applicants. An applicant from a non-EU country who lives abroad must also hold a letter of pre-acceptance. That letter comes from the MoveIn pre-selection, which ran from 22 December 2025 to 15 May 2026 for visa seeking candidates.
