The first two years are the same for every student. Year one is CALCULUS, Computer Architecture, Linear Algebra, PROGRAMMING, ALGORITHMS, PROGRAMMING 2 and Physics. Year two is Calculus 2, Probability, Data Management and Analysis, Systems and Networking, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, AI Lab: Computer Vision and NLP, and Statistics. Year three is Foundations of Computer Science, elective courses, an Internship worth 15 CFU and a Final exam worth 3 CFU. The published electives are Cybersecurity, Deep Learning, Multicore Programming, Programming Languages, Web and Software Architecture, Human Computer Interaction, Optimization, Functional Programming, Intelligent System Design Methods, Law and Computer Science and BUSINESS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE. The names above are copied from the study plan exactly as it prints them, capitals included.
Access is restricted. The call for applications for 2026-2027 is Rector's Decree No. 946/2026, dated 7 May 2026. It sets 180 places: 120 for EU citizens and for non-EU citizens holding an Italian residence permit, and 60 for non-EU citizens who need a student visa. Five of the 60 are reserved for the Marco Polo project. EU applicants get two selection rounds. A non-EU applicant who needs a visa may take part in the first round only.
A non-EU applicant must sit one of three tests: the English TOLC-I, the CEnT-S or the SAT General Test. The English TOLC-I counts if taken between 1 July 2024 and November 2025. The CEnT-S counts from November 2025, in the sections M Mathematics, R Reasoning on texts and data and P Physics. The SAT counts from 1 January 2024, and the score must be sent to Sapienza through the College Board, institution code 9038. An EU applicant may also use the TOLC-I or the TOLC-S. The call sets the admission floor at 36 out of 100. A score below 40 out of 100 adds a Further Required Course in mathematics, cleared in the first year either by the faculty resit test or by passing the Linear Algebra exam. The board may call an applicant to an online interview, and a negative interview removes the place whatever the test score was.
English must be at CEFR level B2, and this call prints its own scores. IELTS Academic 5.5 out of 9. TOEFL iBT 72 out of 120. Pearson Test of English Academic 42. Pearson Test of English General Level 3 at B2 or higher. FCE, CAE and CPE are accepted with no score attached. The IELTS Academic Home-Based Test and the TOEFL iBT Home Edition Test count. A medium of instruction letter from a Pakistani university does not work here. The waiver for a degree taught in English is limited to an accredited institution in the EU, EEA or Schengen area, or in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States. Two waivers on the same list carry no country limit at all: an International Baccalaureate diploma, and a General Certificate of Education. The call also prints two further routes, one for a candidate who has taken the SAT, the English TOLC-I or the CEnT-S, and one for 24 out of 30 in the English section of an Italian TOLC-I or TOLC-S.
The minimum school mark is published and it is 75 out of 100, for a non-EU applicant who needs a visa.
The pre-selection application costs 30 euro, and Sapienza states that no waiver exists. The selection itself costs another 10 euro, paid on Infostud under code 14824, and it is not refundable. Tuition is set by country of tax residence when your family income is not in Italy. Sapienza places Pakistan in Band A, which is 300 euro a year, paid as 90, then 105, then 105 euro. Enrolment adds the Lazio regional tax of 140 euro and stamp duty of 16 euro. Those three published figures total 456 euro for the first year.
The 2026-2027 cycle is closed to a new applicant from Pakistan. Pre-selection on the MoveIn platform ran from 22 December 2025 to 15 May 2026 for visa applicants. The selection ran from 8 May to 18 June 2026. Visa pre-enrolment on Universitaly closed on 30 June 2026. Teaching for 2026-2027 starts on 23 September 2026. No dates for 2027-2028 are published yet.

Can I use a medium of instruction letter from my Pakistani university instead of IELTS?
No, not on this degree. Annex 2 of the ACSAI call waives the English requirement for "a degree awarded in English by an accredited institution in the EU/EEA/Schengen area or in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States". Pakistan is not in that list. Two waivers in the same annex have no country limit and do apply to you if you hold one: an International Baccalaureate diploma, and a General Certificate of Education. Otherwise you need a certificate: IELTS Academic 5.5, TOEFL iBT 72, PTE Academic 42, PTE General Level 3 at B2, FCE, CAE or CPE.
What score do I need on the admission test?
36 out of 100 is the floor for admission, and the place is then decided by rank order against the number of places. Below 40 out of 100 you also pick up a Further Required Course in mathematics, which you clear in your first year either by the faculty resit test or by passing the Linear Algebra exam. As a non-EU applicant you may take the English TOLC-I, the CEnT-S or the SAT General Test. For the pre-selection stage the requirements document asks for an SAT overall score higher than 960 out of 1600, or a CEnT-S converted score higher than zero.
Is there a minimum school mark?
Yes, 75 out of 100. The call requires an upper secondary school diploma obtained or to be obtained in 2026 with a GPA of no less than 75/100, for a non-EU citizen resident abroad who needs a student visa. The pre-selection requirements document prints the same figure under this degree as MINIMUM GPA: 75/100. Sapienza adds that meeting the academic and language requirements is not a guarantee of admission, because each application is assessed individually.
What does the first year cost?
456 euro, built from three published figures. Sapienza charges a student whose income is not in Italy a fixed amount by country band, and it names Pakistan in Band A at 300 euro a year, paid as 90, then 105, then 105 euro. Enrolment adds the Lazio regional tax of 140 euro and stamp duty of 16 euro. Before that you pay 30 euro to apply through MoveIn and 10 euro to enter the selection, and neither is refundable.
Can I still apply for 2026-2027?
