About this degree.

A two-year Luiss Guido Carli master's degree in Rome, classified LM-77, that teaches company strategy across management, economics, law, technology and sustainability, with four majors and 120 ECTS. It suits an economics or business graduate aiming at consulting, strategy, innovation or project roles who can sit the Luiss admission test or supply a GMAT or GRE score.

The Master's Degree in Strategic Management is a two-year graduate degree at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome. Luiss classifies it as LM-77. It carries 120 ECTS credits. The page lists the language as English and Italian, because some tracks run in Italian and some in English. The record on the site is for the 2027/2028 academic year.

The university's full description

The first semester of year one is shared by everyone. Luiss calls this part Essentials. It holds five courses: Quantitative Methods and Industry Dynamics: Industry Dynamics, Quantitative Methods and Industry Dynamics: Quantitative Methods for Management, Corporate Strategy and Megatrends, Law and Development, and Organizational Design and Change.

From the second semester of the first year you choose a major. There are four. Strategic Management and Consulting runs in both Italian and English. Sustainability and Circular Economy runs in English. Technology Strategy runs in English. Entrepreneurship and Project Management runs in English. Each major sets its own courses for the second semester of year one and the first semester of year two.

The rest of the plan is the same in every major. You take two elective courses, which Luiss calls Profile. You take two Certificates, each built with a corporate or institutional partner, and each one issues a blockchain-notarised digital micro-credential. You do an internship, which Luiss calls Field Experience. You write a final thesis. Every major totals 120 ECTS.

Admission is by selection and places are limited. For applicants from outside the EU and Schengen area there are two routes. One is the Luiss Admission Test. The other is direct admission with a GMAT or GRE score. Strategic Management is named on both route pages, in an Italian track and an English track.

English is assessed inside the Luiss Admission Test. Luiss asks for at least a B2 level. It does not ask for an IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo certificate for this degree. If you sit the test in Italian you may only apply for courses taught in Italian. If you sit the test in English you may apply for courses in both Italian and English.

The single annual contribution for first-year enrolment in 2027/2028 is 16,000 euro. Luiss says it is payable in three instalments, plus the regional tax. Entering either selection costs a participation fee of 150 euro, which is mandatory and non refundable.

Do I need an IELTS or TOEFL score for this degree?

No. Luiss states that students must have at least a B2 level of English, which will be assessed during the admission test. No external English certificate is listed for this degree on any of the master's admission pages. Duolingo is accepted only for the separate non-degree Foundation Programme, which is not this course.

What does the first year cost?

Is my bachelor's subject eligible?
