Unverified. Not yet verified. A person has not opened the source for this cycle. Read off the institution own programme page on 13 September 2026 by a single research pass. It has NOT been independently re-checked: the verification stage of that run was stopped before it reached this record, so the record renders as unverified rather than claiming a receipt it does not have. The English requirement is held at unverified unless a per programme source URL was found. Figures here are a starting point for a reader, not a checked claim. Open questions: 1) The name of the award is inconsistent across the institution's own documents. The 2026/2027 call says RoME sits inside the Master's Degree in Economics, Markets and Institutions, then says graduates obtain a Master's Degree in Economics and Finance, RoME specialisation. The Luiss curricular requirements page for 2027/2028 lists the parent degree as Economia, Istituzioni e Mercati Finanziari. Confirm the name the 2027/2028 degree carries. 2) Tuition for the open 2027/2028 cycle is not published for this programme. The 15,000 euro figure is the single annual contribution stated in the 2026/2027 call. 3) The RoME application page says university fees are "about 13.600 euros per year (excluding regional taxes)", which contradicts the 15,000 euro in the 2026/2027 call. That page appears out of date. 4) The call says applicants from other degree classes may take the admission test, but its own admission criteria section describes only evaluation by the Selection Committee and possible interviews. Confirm whether a RoME applicant sits the Luiss admission test, and where the B2 English check happens for this route. 5) No application fee is published for RoME. Confirm whether the 150 euro Luiss participation fee applies to this route, which uses its own form and its own selection committee. 6) The Luiss programme page links an application form with id_evento=124, while the 2026/2027 call and the RoME site both use id_evento=371. The same Luiss page still says admission is conditioned on obtaining the undergraduate degree by 25 November 2022, so its admissions tab is stale. 7) The Luiss study plan tab and the RoME courses page do not list the same modules. The RoME list is more recent and adds AI Tools for Economics courses, Economic Policy Workshop and Firms and Innovation, but publishes no ECTS values. 8) The credit threshold for applicants from other degree classes differs between sources: 48 credits in at least two subject areas in the 2026/2027 RoME call, 24 credits in at least three subject areas on the 2027/2028 parent degree page. The university's own wording
“The 2026/2027 call for applications states: "Applications for admission will be evaluated, on the basis of the curricular requirements and the documentation submitted by the candidates, by the Selection Committee, composed of Luiss and EIEF lecturers, at its sole discretion. The Commission reserves the right to convene candidates for individual interviews, to be conducted electronically." The Italian version of the same document is headed "Bando di concorso per la selezione al RoME", a competitive selection notice. The RoME site adds that admission is on a first come, first served basis for applicants who meet the quality requirements, and the published schedule offers a third admission round only "if there are still slots available".”

What the call asks for
A prerequisite for participating in the program is an undergraduate university degree, with preference for degrees in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
Bachelor's degree in class L-18 (Ministerial Decree 270/04) and 17 (Ministerial Decree 509/99), Economics and business management, or L-33 (Ministerial Decree 270/04) and 28 (Ministerial Decree 509/99), Economic Sciences.
Applicants from other degree classes need at least 48 total university credits, obtained or to be obtained, in at least two of these subject areas: Economics, Business Economics, Mathematical Statistics, Legal, Computer Engineering. This is the rule in the 2026/2027 RoME call.
For the open 2027/2028 cycle the Luiss page for the parent degree, Economia, Istituzioni e Mercati Finanziari, states a different figure: at least 24 university credits in at least three of Business, Economics, Statistics and Law.
At least a B2 level of English, assessed during the admission test.
The 2026/2027 call required the bachelor's degree to be obtained by 9 November 2026. Applicants could apply before graduating.
A foreign qualification must be accompanied by the Declaration of Value issued by the Consular Representatives of the country of the qualification, or by the CIMEA certificate of Comparability or Verification. For bachelor's degrees obtained in countries that signed the Lisbon Convention, the Diploma Supplement issued by the university of origin is sufficient for enrolment.

Before any of it counts
Start the legalisation chain first
A degree awarded outside Europe has to be attested and legalised before an Italian university reads it. That chain is decided by the country you apply from, and no office on it publishes a turnaround.
The degree
About this degree.
RoME is a two year, 120 ECTS master's degree in economics, taught in English and run jointly by Luiss Guido Carli and the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance. It suits economics graduates who want graduate level theory, econometrics and research training before a PhD or a research job in a bank, a regulator or a central bank.
Luiss Guido Carli and the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance run this programme together. The call for applications writes the name as RoME (Rome Masters in Economics). The same call describes RoME as a specialisation inside a Luiss master's degree, and says its courses are delivered entirely in English. The programme lasts two years and carries 120 ECTS.
The university's full description
Each academic year is split into two semesters, and each semester into two modules. The Luiss study plan lists first year courses in Mathematical Methods for Economics, Economic workshop, Mathematical Statistics, Microeconomic Analysis, Econometric Theory, Macroeconomic Analysis, Advanced Corporate Finance (advanced micro) and Market Law & Regulation. The second year lists Asset pricing, Advanced Financial Economics, a Master Thesis worth 16 ECTS and an Internship worth 8 ECTS. Students also take one core course and three elective courses, each worth 6 ECTS.
Admission does not follow the standard Luiss route. A Selection Committee of Luiss and EIEF lecturers reads the application and decides at its sole discretion. The committee may call a candidate to an individual interview held online. A GMAT or GRE score is not mandatory but is strongly recommended. An English language certificate is also not mandatory but is strongly recommended.
For the academic year 2026/2027 the single annual contribution was 15,000 euro. A student who was not awarded a scholarship paid 5,000 euro as the first instalment when registering for attendance, and that amount was not refundable. Up to 15 scholarships were offered for that year, each a full exemption from the single contribution, and up to eight of them also carried 11,000 euro gross per academic year paid by EIEF. The regional tax for the right to study is not covered by the exemption.
Teaching starts in September. In the 2026/2027 calendar, two weeks of preliminary courses in mathematics and statistics ran from 17 August, and Module I started on 7 September. The admission round for 2026/2027 closed on 12 June 2026. Luiss states that the admission calls for 2027/2028 will be published from November 2026, so no deadline for the next intake is published yet.
Where it leads
As the university states it on its own page. Not a placement rate and not a promise.
- Private and public institutions such as banks, firms, research departments, policy making institutions, regulatory agencies, central banks.
- Professions range from consulting, financial analyst, data analyst, regulators, researcher.
- Luiss publishes a list of PhD programmes where RoME students have been admitted. It names Bocconi University, London School of Economics, MIT Sloan, Princeton University, Stanford University and University of Chicago, among others.
- In the summer between the first and the second year, and if their academic performance is strong enough, students are offered an 8 to 10 week internship. The programme site says institutions that have accepted RoME students include Oliver Wyman, Boston Consulting Group, ENEL and the Bank of Italy.
Asked about this programme
The questions this one gets.
Do I need IELTS or TOEFL to apply?
No certificate is mandatory. The RoME call lists English language certification as not mandatory but strongly recommended. Luiss requires at least a B2 level of English for this degree and assesses it during the admission test. No minimum IELTS or TOEFL score is published for this programme.
Is the GRE or the GMAT compulsory?
No. The call lists GMAT or GRE certification as not mandatory but strongly recommended. The programme site says applicants who present GRE or GMAT results immediately, and whose academic profile is assessed favourably, can be offered early admission by March.
What does a year cost?
For the academic year 2026/2027 the single annual contribution was 15,000 euro. A student without a scholarship paid a first instalment of 5,000 euro when registering for attendance, and it was not refundable. The regional tax for the right to study is separate. The figure for 2027/2028 is not published yet.
Can I apply for the next intake now?
Not yet. The 2026/2027 round closed on 12 June 2026. Luiss states that the admission calls for 2027/2028 will be published from November 2026. The programme site says applications open in the November or December before the year of entry.
Is the teaching in English?
Yes. The call for applications says the courses of the RoME specialisation are delivered entirely in English.
Is there a grade I have to keep during the course?
Yes. From the end of the first semester of the first year, the average mark for examinations may not fall below a threshold set by the Scientific Directors. For students enrolled in 2026/2027 that threshold was 24/30. Losing it costs the RoME place and the scholarship.
One programme, one university, once a year.
That is what Universitaly allows. Three questions tell you where you stand before you spend that choice: the degree level, what the visa wants in the bank, and how much calendar is left.
