The same page states the rule that covers how B2 is proved: "For degree programmes taught in English, in addition to meeting the minimum curricular requirements, applicants must have a level of English proficiency equivalent to at least B2. Depending on the admission route taken by applicants, proficiency at this language level is verified (for example, by passing the Admission Test in English or by submitting GMAT or GRE certificates)." The Luiss Test page adds: "If you choose to take the Test in English, you will be able to apply for courses in both Italian and English." A two year, 120 ECTS law degree taught entirely in English at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome, covering global regulation, AI law, cybersecurity and a choice between corporate law and international institutions. It suits graduates of law, economics, political science, public administration or communication who want to work across national, European and international rules.

The Master's Degree in Law for Global Challenges is a two year degree at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome. It is worth 120 ECTS. It is taught entirely in English. Luiss places it in the Italian degree class LM-SC-GIUR. The open cycle is 2027/2028. The programme page carries this warning: "The degree programme is subject to approval by the Ministry of University and may undergo modifications."

The university's full description

The first semester is the same for every student. It holds four Essentials courses, each worth 8 ECTS: Regulation Between Global and Local Governance, Law and Ethics of AI, Cybersecurity for Private and Public Organizations, and Strategic Management in a Global Economy. From the second semester students follow one of two majors.

Law for Business in a Global Context is described as "focused on global legal skills for key corporate functions (tax, compliance, ESG sustainability)". Its published courses are International Tax Law of Multinational Corporations in Practice (8 ECTS), Data Governance (8 ECTS), The Law of Transnational Mobility (6 ECTS), Corporate Compliance (8 ECTS) and Financial Reporting and Analysis (6 ECTS). Students then pick one of Corporate Sustainability & ESG Due Diligence (6 ECTS) or International Commercial contracts, Arbitration and ADR (6 ECTS).

Law for Institutions in a Global Context is described as "geared towards public and international careers, with in-depth study of advanced international law, global security, and health regulation". Its published courses are Democracy, Interests Representation and Advocacy in Multilevel Law-Making (6 ECTS), International Economic Law and Multilateral Cooperation (8 ECTS), The EU as a Global Actor: Strategic Autonomy, Trade and Security (8 ECTS), One Health Regulation (8 ECTS) and Strategic Studies (6 ECTS). Students then pick one of EU Competition, Internal Market and Digital Law and Policies (6 ECTS) or Fundamental Rights in the International and European Dimensions (6 ECTS).

Both majors then add two elective courses, two Certificates of 6 ECTS each, an Internship of 6 ECTS and a Final Thesis of 16 ECTS. Luiss issues a notarised digital micro-credential on the blockchain on completion of each Certificate. Teaching is built on case studies, simulations, project work and the analysis of real world problems.

There are two ways in. One is the Luiss admission test, taken in Italian or in English. The other is direct admission with a GMAT or GRE certificate. Luiss does not ask for an IELTS or TOEFL score for this degree. Applicants need English at B2 level, and Luiss checks it inside the admission test or through the GMAT or GRE certificate. The programme director is Giuseppe Melis, Full Professor of Tax Law at Luiss.

The single annual fee for the first year of 2027/2028 is 16,000 euro. It is paid in three instalments. The regional tax is charged on top of it. Taking part in the selection costs a further 150 euro, which is mandatory and not refundable.
