It has NOT been independently re-checked: the verification stage of that run was stopped before it reached this record, so the record renders as unverified rather than claiming a receipt it does not have. The English requirement is held at unverified unless a per programme source URL was found. Figures here are a starting point for a reader, not a checked claim. Open questions: 1) The 2027/2028 admission notice was not published when this record was made on 13 September 2026, so the document list and the certification deadlines can still change. Luiss states the notice will be available from November 2026. 2) Luiss gives two different dates for the notice. The programme page says the competition notices will be published in October 2026. The Master's Degree Admissions hub and the non EU route page both say the notices will be available from November 2026. 3) Luiss publishes no teaching start month for this degree, so intakeMonths is left empty rather than guessed. The selection calendar implies one intake per academic year. 4) Luiss publishes no minimum mark for applicants who are not already Luiss students, so minGpaPercent is empty. The 28/30 weighted average is only the direct access route for Luiss bachelor graduates and holders of a Luiss Level 1 Master's degree, which an overseas applicant cannot use. 5) The FAQ at the foot of the Finance and Management selection page states that the one off annual fee is 16,000 euro for the first year and 18,000 euro for the Bachelor's degree programmes in Management and Finance. That wording conflicts with the programme page, which states 18,000 euro for the first year of this master's for 2027/2028. The programme page figure was used. The FAQ wording looks like a translation error on the Luiss site and is worth confirming with the admissions office. 6) The minimum curricular requirements page groups Finance with Amministrazione, Finanza e Controllo and Management and Marketing, and the version published is labelled 2026/2027. The 2027/2028 version was not yet online. 7) The input file /tmp/rome-programmes-todo.json was not present on this machine, so the exact title, level, language, subject area and programme URL recorded for this slug could not be read from it. The programme was identified from the slug and the university name instead. Confirm that the msc-finance slug is meant to point at this laurea magistrale in the LM-77 class, and not at MOSFI, the separate non degree Master of Science in Finance run by Luiss LEAP at leap.luiss.it. 8) The englishRequirement enum has no value meaning that no English certificate is required. internal-test was the closest available value and englishDetail carries the precise position. The university’s exact wording
“The Finance and Management selection page lists the complete admission requirements for this degree and names no English language certificate. The only certification clause is: "you hold one of the following international certifications: GMAT with a minimum score of 555 (out of 805); GRE with a minimum score of 157 (out of 170) in both the Quantitative and Verbal sections." No IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo minimum is published for this programme. The Luiss admission test does not gate this degree either: the non EU admission test page states "There is a specific selection process for admission to the Master's Degree Programmes in Finance and Management". The nearest thing to an English measure is the Verbal section of the GRE at 157 out of 170, or the verbal component inside the GMAT total of 555 out of 805.”

Before any of it counts
Start the legalisation chain first
A degree awarded outside Europe has to be attested and legalised before an Italian university reads it. That chain is decided by the country you apply from, and no office on it publishes a turnaround.
The degree
About this degree.
A two year Master's Degree in Finance taught entirely in English at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome, worth 120 ECTS, with a Corporate Finance or a Financial Markets major chosen after the first semester. It suits economics and business graduates aiming at investment banking, corporate finance or asset management who can meet a GMAT or GRE score gate.
The Master's Degree in Finance is a two year programme at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome. It is worth 120 ECTS. It is taught entirely in English. It sits in the Italian degree class LM-77.
The university's full description
All students take the same courses in the first semester. Luiss calls these the Essentials. At the end of the first semester students choose one of two majors. The Corporate Finance major prepares students for careers in corporate finance and financial consulting. The Financial Markets major focuses on careers in financial markets and investment management.
The study plan also carries two Certificates worth 6 ECTS each. Luiss issues a notarised digital micro-credential on the blockchain when a student completes a Certificate. There is an internship worth 6 ECTS. There is a final thesis worth 16 ECTS. Students take two elective courses worth 12 ECTS in total.
The course includes at least one experience abroad. Luiss states it must last a minimum of 30 consecutive days. It is taken during the two year period.
Admission is by selection. It is not open access. Luiss runs one selection process covering the Master's Degrees in Finance and Management together. An applicant must have completed, or be about to complete, a bachelor's degree that allows entry to a master's degree in Management or Finance. An applicant must also hold a GMAT score of at least 555 out of 805, or a GRE score of at least 157 out of 170 in both the Quantitative and Verbal sections.
Luiss does not ask for an English language certificate for this programme. No IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo minimum appears in the admission requirements. The Luiss admission test route does not apply to this degree. The page for that route states that Finance and Management have their own selection process.
The single annual fee for the first year in 2027/2028 is 18,000 euro. It is paid in three instalments. A regional tax is added on top. Taking part in the selection costs a further 150 euro. That fee is mandatory and non refundable.
The full admission notice for 2027/2028 had not been published when this record was made on 13 September 2026. Luiss states the notice will be available from November 2026.

Asked about this programme
The questions this one gets.
Do I need IELTS or TOEFL for the Luiss Master's Degree in Finance?
No. Luiss does not list any English language certificate in the admission requirements for this degree. The published gate is a GMAT score of at least 555 out of 805, or a GRE score of at least 157 out of 170 in both the Quantitative and Verbal sections.
Can I apply with a medium of instruction letter or a Duolingo score?
Neither is listed for this programme. Luiss accepts a medium of instruction letter only on the incoming transfer route, which a first year applicant cannot use. Duolingo is accepted only for the non degree Foundation Programme.
Is admission open or restricted?
Restricted. Luiss runs one selection process covering the Master's Degrees in Finance and Management. You must hold a qualifying bachelor's degree and a GMAT or GRE score at or above the published minimum.
What does the first year cost?
The single annual fee for enrolment in the first year for the 2027/2028 academic year is 18,000 euro, payable in three instalments, plus the regional tax. Taking part in the selection costs a further 150 euro, which is mandatory and non refundable.
When do applications open and close?
Luiss publishes this calendar for 2027/2028: application submission from December 2026 to 31 March 2027, enrolment by 18 May 2027, and obtaining a Bachelor's Degree by 18 November 2027. The full admission notice is due from November 2026.
Can I take the Luiss admission test instead of the GMAT or GRE?
Not for this degree. The Luiss Test page for non EU applicants states that there is a specific selection process for admission to the Master's Degree Programmes in Finance and Management.
What do I study?
The first semester is common to everyone and covers Cases in Business Law, Advanced Corporate Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, and two Quantitative Methods for Finance courses. After that you choose the Corporate Finance major or the Financial Markets major. The degree also includes two Certificates, two electives, an internship and a final thesis.
Do I have to go abroad during the degree?
Yes. Luiss states the course includes at least one experience abroad, lasting a minimum of 30 consecutive days, to be undertaken during the two year period.
