Unverified. Not yet verified. A person has not opened the source for this cycle. Read off the institution own programme page on 13 September 2026 by a single research pass. It has NOT been independently re-checked: the verification stage of that run was stopped before it reached this record, so the record renders as unverified rather than claiming a receipt it does not have. The English requirement is held at unverified unless a per programme source URL was found. Figures here are a starting point for a reader, not a checked claim. Open questions: 1) The full 2027/2028 admission notices are published from October 2026. Every date here comes from the preliminary calendar Luiss has already put up for the first session, so the dates can move. 2) No application platform URL is published yet for 2027/2028. The applicationUrl returned is the route page for candidates from outside the EU and Schengen area, where the notice will appear. The my.luiss.it link on those pages is the footer login, not an application portal, and was not used. 3) The 2027/2028 academic calendar is not published. September is read off the published 2026/2027 calendar, which starts the first semester on Monday 7 September 2026. It is a pattern, not a published 2027/2028 date. 4) 10 February 2027 is the non-EU first session deadline, shared by the Luiss extra-EU test route and the certification route. The EU certification route closes 24 March 2027. A second Luiss Test session for 2027/2028 is announced but not dated. 5) The two electives in year three are not named on the study plan. They appear only as 2 Electives worth 12 ECTS, so no elective titles were recorded. 6) No cap on the number of places is published for this degree, so restricted here means selection, not a published quota. 7) The foreign qualifications page still carries a document deadline of November 25, 2024, which looks stale and was not used for anything returned here. 8) The certification route lists an assessment interview only as a possibility, in the phrase any assessment interview. It is not confirmed as a required step. Luiss Guido Carli, Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business

The university’s exact wording
“The call for applications for the 2027/2028 academic year lists Economics and Business among the Degree Courses in English and states, verbatim: "It is not necessary to submit any language certification to prove knowledge of the language." The same call states that the admission test to degree courses taught in English is the English translation of the Italian test. The admission test page for this cycle puts the question "Do you need an English language certificate?" and answers that it is not needed, because passing the English language test is enough to reach courses in English. The route page for candidates from outside the EU and Schengen area adds that for degree programmes taught in Italian the test is taken in Italian, and for those taught in English it is taken in English. Luiss publishes no IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or Duolingo minimum score for this degree.”

Entry requirements

What this call asks of you.

The admission model first, because it is the one that closes a degree for a year. Everything below it is quoted from the university's call for applications for this cycle, in its order.

  • How it admits

    Restricted, entrance test

    accesso programmato

    The university's own wording
“Luiss does not print the words accesso libero or accesso programmato on this degree's pages, because it is a private university and admits by its own selection rather than under the national numero programmato. Access is restricted: every route to a place is a selection. The 2027/2028 call for applications states, verbatim: "Candidates who have obtained a score equal to or higher than 60/100 are considered admitted." The same call states that the rankings are determined 100% by the test score, expressed in hundredths. The alternative route admits a candidate directly on a qualifying SAT, LSAT, ACT or International Baccalaureate score. No place exists without passing one of the two. Luiss publishes no number of places for this degree.”
  • Entrance tests

    The university's own testSATInterview

What the call asks for

  1. An upper secondary school diploma valid for admission to Italian universities, already held or obtained by the deadlines set in the admission notice.

  2. For Pakistan, Luiss lists the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), or the Intermediate Examination Certificate (IEC), or the All-India Senior School Certificate (SSC) Examination (AISSCE) issued by CBSE.

  3. A qualification counts only if it was obtained after at least two years of attendance in the same school system. A qualification awarded inside a mobility programme is not accepted.

  4. Where the school system requires a national university entrance exam, the diploma counts only when it comes with the certificate showing that exam was passed.

  5. Pass the Luiss admission test with a score of at least 60 out of 100. For this degree the test is taken in English.

  6. Or gain direct admission on one of these certifications: SAT Total Score 1200/1600, LSAT Total Score 160/180, ACT Total Score 25/36, IB Diploma or Predicted Grade 36/45.

  7. No language certificate is required.

  8. One degree programme only per application. The choice is binding for admission and for enrolment afterwards.

  9. Admission is conditional. The school qualification itself is verified at enrolment, not at admission, and enrolment fails if it does not comply.

The English rule

The university's own test

Before any of it counts

Start the legalisation chain first

A degree awarded outside Europe has to be attested and legalised before an Italian university reads it. That chain is decided by the country you apply from, and no office on it publishes a turnaround.

The degree

About this degree.

A three year bachelor's degree taught in English at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome, combining economics, management, finance, law and quantitative methods, with a Management, Finance or Economics major chosen in the third year. It suits a student who wants an English taught business and economics degree in Italy and who will sit the Luiss admission test instead of supplying an English certificate.

The Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business is a three year programme at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome. It is worth 180 ECTS. It is taught in English. Luiss places it in the Italian degree class L-33. The published course record is for the 2027/2028 academic year.

The university's full description

The first two years are the same for every student. Year one is Introduction to Business Economics, Principles of Economics, Mathematics 1, Microeconomics, Accounting, Statistics and Foundation of Coding and AI. Year two is Macroeconomics, Principles of Civil Law, Mathematics 2, Applied Statistics and Econometrics, Games and Strategies, Corporate Finance, and Law and Economics (Corporate and Business Law: Antitrust and Regulation). Year two also carries a data analysis lab built around a group project and a Humanities credit worth 2 ECTS.

In the third year a student chooses one of three majors. The Management major teaches Financial Markets and Institutions, IO and Competition Theory, Management, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology, and International Economics. The Finance major teaches Money and Banking, Financial Markets and Institutions, Mathematical Finance, Capital Markets and International Economics. The Economics major teaches Money and Banking, Financial Markets and Institutions, IO and Competition Theory, Economic Growth and Development, and International Economics. Each major then adds two electives worth 12 ECTS.

Outside the taught modules the plan sets aside 4 ECTS for a mandatory language, 4 ECTS for other activities, 6 ECTS for an internship and 4 ECTS for the final thesis. All three majors total 180 ECTS.

Admission is by selection. The Luiss admission test lasts 75 minutes and holds 50 multiple choice questions on reasoning, problem solving and mathematics. A score of 60 out of 100 or higher is admitted. For a degree taught in English the test is taken in English, and Luiss states that no language certificate has to be submitted. A second route admits a candidate directly on a qualifying SAT, LSAT, ACT or International Baccalaureate score.

Tuition for the first year in 2027/2028 is 15,000 euro, paid in three instalments, plus the regional tax. Luiss calls this a Single Contribution, which means it is not set by income bracket. Taking part in a selection costs 150 euro.

Luiss says graduates go into economic consulting, finance, business strategy, international organisations, public institutions and leading companies. The degree also offers a triple degree with Université libre de Bruxelles and the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt.

Asked about this programme

The questions this one gets.

Do I need IELTS or TOEFL for this degree?

No. The Luiss call for applications states that no language certification has to be submitted. English is tested inside the Luiss admission test, which you take in English for this degree.

What does it cost per year?

Tuition for the first year of 2027/2028 is 15,000 euro, paid in three instalments, plus the regional tax. Luiss calls this a Single Contribution and does not set it by income bracket. Taking part in a selection costs 150 euro, which is not refunded.

When do I have to apply?

For a candidate from outside the EU and Schengen area, applications for the first 2027/2028 session run from October 2026 to 10 February 2027, and enrolment is due by 4 May 2027. The full admission notice is published from October 2026.

Is there a minimum school grade?

Luiss publishes no minimum school mark for this degree, and none in its Pakistan entry. It publishes minimum scores only for the certification route: SAT 1200/1600, LSAT 160/180, ACT 25/36, IB 36/45.

Can I apply for more than one Luiss degree at once?

No. You name one degree programme on the application, and that choice is binding for admission and for enrolment.

What changes in the third year?

You pick one of three majors: Management, Finance or Economics. The first two years are identical for everyone. Each major adds two electives worth 12 ECTS, and every path totals 180 ECTS.

One programme, one university, once a year.

That is what Universitaly allows. Three questions tell you where you stand before you spend that choice: the degree level, what the visa wants in the bank, and how much calendar is left.
